About this walk

The Barwon River Walk in Geelong is a circuit walk that takes in both sides of the vibrant Barwon River and passes though parklands and reserves.
A great place to start is from the carpark of the Balyang Sanctuary where there are public toilets and picnic facilities.
The walk is fully paved and predominately flat.  Access the walk from several locations along it’s 20 km stretch so why not set yourself a challenge and do the full walk in stages?
Small children will love the abundant bird life on the river.
